Unit description

Enables students to commence the final group of eight midwifery continuity experiences. Legal and ethical issues concerning parental rights and the rights of the child are discussed, including the impact on the self of the midwife. Research skills for evidence-informed decision-making are further developed. There is further development of the knowledge and skills necessary for cultural competence when working with Indigenous women and women from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Module 3: Cultural Competence (module is co-taught with Indigenous staff from Gnibi)
