Learning outcomes and graduate attributes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

1 demonstrate the knowledge and skills to be able to care for women who have complicated multiple pregnancies, births or postnatal problems
2 demonstrate the knowledge and skills to be able to care for women who have complicated breech pregnancies or births and other serious disorders or complications during childbearing
3 demonstrate the knowledge and skills to be able to provide basic health information to parents about genetic and congenital disorders during pregnancy and after birth
4 demonstrate the knowledge and skills to be able to care for babies who may or do have serious infections in the perinatal period including the seriously ill neonate
5 demonstrate the knowledge and skills to be able to support optimal holistic health for the baby, the women and her family when the baby is seriously ill or disabled
6 demonstrate the knowledge and skills to be able to prevent, detect, evaluate and promote the healing of pelvic floor trauma including repairing with sutures
7 demonstrate the knowledge and skills to be able to work effectively in small groups to produce a midwifery learning resource using any media.
