Unit description

Develops a historical and current contextual understanding of midwifery and maternity care services. Associated theoretical, legal and ethical issues are presented. Students also develop introductory skills in communicating, academic research and writing.

3 Describe models of communication theories to the practice of basic effective communication skills including team work skills
4 Demonstrate the use of a model of reflection to systematically reflect upon the learning from experience
5 Demonstrate consistent and careful library, writing and referencing skill

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
