Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
Transcribe songs from contemporary repertoire into professional music charts
Recognise and create popular instrumental and vocal timbres and effects
Apply intermediate level aural skills in rhythmic, melodic and harmonic perception to the understanding, interpretation and performance of contemporary music repertoire and practice.
Recognise, analyse and create intermediate level ensemble 'grooves' and contemporary rhythmic techniques
Apply chord construction, voicing and voice leading principles to compose two, three and four sectional harmonisations
Recognise, perform and apply advanced scales and modes for improvisation
