Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
discuss the historical development of popular music and the interrelationships between musical styles, technology and the music industry
utilise specific techniques employed in the analysis of contemporary music
describe and aurally identify prominent stylistic features of a range of popular music genres
engage in effective independent popular music research
discuss, through academically written argument, musical analyses of stylistically representative repertoire and related literature.
