Unit description

Provides an overview of the career opportunities and challenges existing for musicians in the current industry landscape. Students participate in weekly workshops, building foundational knowledge in relation to career patterns, relevant business and legal frameworks, and the impact of technology on music promotion and distribution.

Music industry overview.

Developing portfolio careers in music.

Introduction to key concepts relating to copyright law, music/multimedia product publishing and live music performance.

Current trends in digital distribution and online marketing of music/multimedia content.
