    Basic knowledge of events planning processes required. This unit is a core unit within the BBCEM course and has been designed primarily for students in that course. The subject matter and topics are intended to be studied in conjunction with units MNG00421 Events Management, MNG10228 Project Management for Conventions and Events, MKT01420 Conventions, Meetings and Exhibitions Management, and MNG01222 Facility and Risk Management for Hospitality Operations. Students who are not studying these units will need to undertake extra study and must consult with the unit lecturer at the commencement of the session and obtain a supplementary study materials list.

Unit description

Explores the technical and creative processes of programming and production operations commonly used in convention, exhibition and event management in order to provide students with the ability to apply the technical processes of production operations - programming, theming, logistics planning and staging - used in Convention, Exhibition and Special Event management. The unit investigates effective means of evaluating options and making the selections required to successfully manage a range of diverse events in a variety of contexts. In this unit there will be tasks that involve the development of skills to enable the student to apply creative and innovative programming processes, evaluate complex project requirements, and create complex production planning documents.
