Unit description

Examines the technical and creative processes of programming and production design used in event management. In particular it investigates effective management processes to evaluating options and make planning selections for diverse events in a variety of contexts. This is achieved by critical analysis and synthesis of academic research and innovative industry best practice applied to development of a program design proposal and operational plans for a hypothetical event.

Unit content

The unit is taught in two modules:

Programme Design Theme; Experiences and Impressions; Conceptualising; Feasibility Evaluation 

Production Design; Functions and Expectations; Talent, Content and Programming; Venue and Facilities Selection; Assessing Technology Requirements; Logistic Scheduling; Logistic Operations; Site, Venue, and Facilities Management; Programme and Stage Management; Audience Management.
