This unit contains professional experience learning/ laboratory activities that require students to meet mandatory compliance requirements prior to attending. This requirement has been stipulated by the placement providers. It is strongly recommended that only students who meet this requirement enrol in this unit.
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
commence and sustain continuity experiences with a minimum of four women
critically discuss the legal and ethical issues concerning parental and child rights
critically discuss the barriers for Aboriginal people and CALD communities being able to access culturally safe maternity care, and focus on strategies to create culturally competent services
engage in career planning
develop a clear, specific and achievable proposal for internship.
