Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
provide evidence-informed midwifery care for the well woman and her fetus/baby across the antenatal period, labour and birth
explain and summarise the psychophysiological responses during the antenatal period, labour and birth
explore the midwife’s role as facilitator to support women in decision-making that optimises health and wellbeing in the antenatal period, labour and birth
demonstrate and apply midwifery knowledge and skills to effectively undertake a basic neonatal resuscitation
