Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
identify and distinguish among common human microbial pathogens and normal flora
summarise and compare human microbial infectious diseases
apply conventional and modern methods for diagnosing and controlling bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections
solve a series of clinical cases in human infectious diseases of the soft tissues, respiratory, and urogenital tracts and complete clinical laboratory reports
solve a series of clinical cases in human infectious diseases of the digestive system and complete clinical laboratory reports
solve a series of clinical cases in human infectious diseases of the nervous and cardiovascular systems and complete clinical laboratory reports
evaluate specimen collection procedures.
