Unit description

This unit aims to consolidate and enhance professional skills and practice in preparation for entry into the workforce. Building on prior clinical placement experience, students will have the opportunity to integrate and apply their skills in real-world settings. By the end of this unit, students should be able to practice with minimal supervision as competent entry-level medical scientists, demonstrating proficiency in laboratory techniques, adherence to professional standards, and the ability to reflect critically on their performance and growth.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. critically self-reflect on workplace performance and experiences that demonstrate insight and inform actionable strategies for professional development

demonstrate competence in medical laboratory science in alignment with the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS) standards
