These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
appreciate the engineering design process and the role of engineering standards in graphical communication
develop skills in computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM)
develop skills in solving engineering problems using a logical framework
understand the role of modelling and simulation in manufacturing
develop knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials and use it to reverse engineer a component
develop communication skills in writing and master appropriate graphics, data manipulation, and word processing software
work effectively in teams.
