Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

identify the materials necessary to prepare a contract for the sale of land under the Torrens system, or for the sale of a business, and to comply with relevant legislative requirements

identify and apply an understanding of the statutory and case law governing the selling, purchasing, leasing and mortgaging of interests in land and businesses

draft the special conditions necessary to prepare a contract for the sale of land or of a business so as to suit the varying circumstances of these transactions

advise clients on the conveyancing, leasing and mortgaging of land and the sale of businesses, including possible conflicts of interest and the revenue implications of these transactions.
