Unit description

Introduces students to legislative provisions contained in the Conveyancers Licensing Act 2003 (NSW) and in particular Schedule 3 of the Conveyancers Licensing Regulation 2015 (NSW). Addresses professional ethics and behaviour in conveyancing practice. Includes examination of selected matters pertaining to practice such as employment.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

identify and explain the tasks that a licensed conveyancer can properly perform in NSW

apply the legislative and regulatory framework relating to the licensing and discipline of conveyancers in NSW

evaluate the current status and the role of the conveyancing profession in NSW

apply relevant business and practice skills utilised by effective licensed conveyancers in contemporary commercial legal and/or conveyancing practices.
