Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

identify discuss and evaluate the fundamental principles of Family Law

analyse, research, and apply Family Law principles to generate legal solutions to practical situations

identify and evaluate alternative types of dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration and conciliation, known as Family Dispute Resolution under the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth)

apply ethical frameworks to Family Law professional practice contexts.
