It is preferable to have completed the following units: LEGL1001 - Legal Research and Writing AND LEGL1005 - Legal Process OR LEGL1004 - Australian Legal System It is an advantage to have prior knowledge of Contract Law.
Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
describe the commercial environment and the issues that arise in entertainment law practice
explain how intellectual property rights are used in the entertainment industry
identify the principles of contract law implicit in entertainment law, and the most common types of agreements used in the entertainment industry
identify the most relevant legislation applicable to the entertainment industry
