Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
interpret the main provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (the 'Act') as they relate to restrictive trade practices and consumer protection
recognise provisions of the Act concerning authorisations and mergers
apply the relevant provisions of the Act to determine whether a breach has occurred in given factual situations
explain the penalties and remedies that are available for breaches of the Act.
