This eight week unit will have a compulsory residential workshop at the Lismore campus. Please refer to the Teaching Timetable which can be found on the Environment Science and Engineering (ESE) Student Centre in MySCU. It is assumed that all students can use ArcGIS or a similar GIS to analyse spatial data and produce maps.
Learning outcomes and graduate attributes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
Learning outcome count | Learning outcome description | GA1 | GA2 | GA3 | GA4 | GA5 | GA6 | GA7 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | demonstrate an understanding of the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with geographic features | |||||||
2 | differentiate geographic features by analysing remotely sensed data | |||||||
3 | combine remotely sensed data with GIS data for application in environmental management | |||||||
4 | solve problems relevant to environmental management using remotely sensed data and GIS. |
