Unit description

The unit covers essential knowledge and techniques of cybersecurity including security principles, vulnerabilities, attacks and defences, risk management and governance, authentication, authorisation & accountability, and legal, privacy and ethical issues. Students will gain knowledge to defend against cyber threats and attacks and grasp techniques for managing security issues.

Learning outcomes

critically evaluate different levels of risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies

articulate legal, privacy or ethical impact of cybersecurity across communities and societies.
