Unit description

Provides professional doctorate candidates with the necessary skills to develop a rigorous research proposal.  Students will combine knowledge and skills developed throughout all other Doctor of Indigenous Philosophies coursework into a proposal. Students will develop a proposal that includes a review of relevant literature, Indigenous methodological theory, knowledge of Indigenous community contexts and demonstrate learning with Country.  The proposal will identify a research problem and provide a detailed plan for addressing the problem, including an analysis of the ethical issues impacting the proposed research methods.

Learning outcomes

apply an understanding of Indigenous axiology to develop an ethical research proposal.
