Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

explain the principles and ethical research policy and practice.

analyse various research methodologies appropriate to the fields of study.

critique the theory of Indigenous research versus different research methodologies as they would be applied in the field.

apply the principles of Intellectual Property and Copyright protection in all work with indigenous peoples.

critically discuss representation, legal and ethical issues in research.

prepare an ethics committee application for a research proposal.

construct a research proposal.
