Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
examine the complex manifestations of racism and other factors that impact on an Indigenous Australian student's academic performance
critique the role of cultural protocols and practices within education, specifically in regard to Indigenous education
appraise literacy and numeracy strategies that are designed to address the needs and aspirations of Indigenous learners
research and critically analyse Government policies that provide innovative frameworks for addressing Indigenous Australian education initiatives, including community-based education.
