Unit description

Investigates the origins, development and governance of Aboriginal organisations to create safe and effective working environments within Aboriginal communities. Students will explore resistance, difference and knowing, to describe the eco-ethical roots of Indigenous cultures while examining concepts of social sustainability.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

summarise the different demands and constraints that influence Indigenous practice in work, administration and organisational behaviour

critically analyse the differences between implicit cultural and community approaches and imposed administrative and business expectations in organisations

synthesise the differences in outcomes through co-design of solution spaces within cross-cultural business and organisational practice.
