Unit description

Explores the difference in Aboriginal addiction in contrast to non-Aboriginal addiction in relation to physiological, social and experiential origins. Students are introduced to programs for addiction treatment, cultural interventions and recovery.

Learning outcomes

critique the statistical frameworks and primary factors in Aboriginal addiction

demonstrate an understanding of the dimensions of addiction amongst marginalised populations

evaluate addiction therapies through an analysis of holistic values and remedial frameworks.
