Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

analyse the evolution of management theories and evaluate their relevance to contemporary management practices

identify the individual, organisational and societal factors shaping the national, international and global environments in which businesses operate

assess how social responsibility and sustainability principles influence corporate governance within ethical business frameworks

discuss the innovative management competencies needed to deal with today’s turbulent business environment, including issues of globalisation, diversity and rapid change.
