Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

identify the history of work; fundamentals of management, organisational behaviour and Human Resource Management (HRM) in relation to the management of people

discuss the impact of globalisation trends and its effect upon labour capital including current skill shortages and the global competition for highly skilled labour

identify the impact of individual, organisational, and societal factors affecting working such as multi-generational workforces and an aging population

identify the role of managers and employees within organisations that are always changing

discuss the changing nature of work, changing roles for women in society and diverse workforces.
