Unit description

Introduces students to the principles and practices of event operations management.  Students focus on the resourcing, scheduling and logistics involved in the staging of an event.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

describe the key elements in staging an event

identify and critically analyse the challenges involved in staging an event

develop an event operations manual that addresses the goals and budget parameters of the event and its key stakeholders

analyse the challenges of staging a convention or event and how these challenges are managed through self-reflection.
