Engages students in an advanced professional learning experience that offers practical work in the tourism and hospitality industry. Students focus on advancing their careers within a 600 hour internship over a 6-month period by integrating academic learning into an advanced professional and practical learning experience.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

identify and analyse the larger social, industrial and economic forces that shape supervisory practices in the hospitality industry

demonstrate the capability to apply a suite of theories studied at The Hotel School in supervisory practices in the hospitality industry

demonstrate the knowledge and skills to reflect upon the challenges of supervising staff in the hospitality industry.
