Unit description

Elite athletes capture our attention with their spellbinding skill; whether it is a swimmer effortlessly gliding through the water or a soccer player dribbling past three defenders to score a goal, they seem to make it look so easy. Have you ever asked yourself how these athletes become so skilful? If you have, then this unit is for you. Together, we will seek to uncover how elite athletes adapt to their ever-changing performance environments, how they creatively solve problems, and how they develop such high levels of consistency and proficiency. To do so, you will learn about the interdisciplinary science of skill acquisition, gaining theoretical and practical knowledge to improve coaching practice and sports science.

Learning outcomes
