Learning outcomes and graduate attributes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

2 demonstrate a level of competence and performance in identified core areas of occupational therapy practice as specified in the Australian Competency Standards for New Graduate Occupational Therapists (2010)
3 actively participate as an effective team member within a range of settings to develop skills in the provision of occupational therapy services applicable to the placement environment
4 demonstrate high level verbal communication skills with clients, families, staff and relevant others with an advanced level of independence and create and maintain appropriate written documentation e.g. client records and reports
5 demonstrate effective assessment skills in direct client care, case management, project management or consultancy
6 develop and conduct effective intervention in direct client care, case management, project management or consultancy
7 reflect on fieldwork experiences demonstrating a deeper level of understanding of its significance compared to previous placements/years and demonstrate an awareness of the value and importance of life-long learning in professional development.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
