Unit description

Further advances the students' osteopathic diagnosis and technique abilities, and prepares students for the clinical training in personal and professional skill development.

Unit content

Topic 1: Osteopathic diagnosis - range of motion of tissues with barrier/ease considerations related to the anatomical relationships of one region of the body to others.
Topic 2: Musculoskeletal evaluation of the patient - including history, motion, palpation, posture, neurological and orthopaedic evaluation
Topic 3: Technique integration - indirect , direct and combined
Topic 4: Functional methods, principles and application
Topic 5: Contraindications to the use of osteopathic techniques
Topic 6: Ethical practice and critical reflection
