    This unit is concerned with the work of nutritionists in communities and populations, and so builds on the student's understanding of the psychosocial contexts of health and the principles of food and nutrition.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

5 explain the processes involved in the development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition based interventions and programs, and be able to apply aspects of this framework to contemporary examples of nutrition programs in Australia and the Asian/Pacific region
6 identify the multiple levels of food governance in Australia, the steps involved in food policy making, the roles and influences of various stakeholders on food and nutrition policy, and examine examples of food policy effectiveness on nutritional health
7 critically discuss the advantages, disadvantages and contributions of personal and political responsibility with regard to individual nutrition and health.
