Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
identify the major types of pests and disease pathogens and demonstrate enhanced understanding of disease epidemiology, transmission of zoonoses and One Health
evaluate and interpret the regulatory requirements for notifiable pests, weeds, and diseases
explain the role of environment in the development of pest, disease and weed outbreaks
create management plans for pests, weeds and/or pathogens based on an understanding of biotic and abotic factors contributing to spread and establishment.
