Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
identify the major types of pests and disease pathogens and demonstrate enhanced understanding of disease epidemiology, transmission of zoonoses and One Health
systematically access information using National and Global databases for pests, diseases and weeds and demonstrate enhanced understanding of the regulatory requirements for notifiable pests and diseases.
evaluate the health of individuals and/or the ecosystem in which they are found and identify potential causes of disease
critically evaluate methods for the control and management of pests and diseases, including the important role of environment in preventing disease in managed ecosystems.
