Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
demonstrate understanding of the nature of the economic problem of scarcity and the implications this will have for resource allocation
analyse the relationship between economic activity and the natural environment and the implications for sustainable development
critically appreciate the difference between environmental economics and ecological economics
discuss the importance of interdisciplinary sciences and identify the role of economics in resolving environmental issues
demonstrate presentation and discussion skills as relevant to environmental consulting, research and making a positive impact.
