Unit description

This unit acts as a vital bridge between scientists, their peers and the wider community. It is an essential step that transforms complex research into accessible and engaging information to support informed decision-making, public policy, and scientific literacy. Through a blend of theory and practical exercises, students will explore various communication methods, including the use of GenAI, scientific writing, visual media, speaking and public discourse, while considering the ethical responsibilities and challenges of conveying science accurately. By the end of this unit, students will be prepared to communicate science in ways that inspire curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and foster trust in scientific endeavours

Learning outcomes
