Learning outcomes and graduate attributes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

2 discuss the issues surrounding the differing information and education needs of various community and stakeholder groups involved in resource management
3 evaluate the various participatory approaches to engaging communities and individuals in natural resource management (including participatory rural appraisal, Indigenous research and action research etc.)
4 explore the various levels of government and the administrative structures and reporting systems incorporated within them and the role of employees within these structures
5 develop a communication/education plan for stakeholders affected by natural resource management issues
6 apply negotiation and conflict resolution skills to a variety of situations confronted by natural resource management practitioners
7 communicate science and management issues to identified stakeholders.
