Unit description

Introduces students to both theoretical and practical aspects of land use and environmental planning. The unit centres on the identification and application of key planning concepts, issues and processes, primarily in relation to statutory and strategic planning at the local and regional levels. In addition, coastal management, climate change, sustainability and community involvement are examined in relation to environmental planning.

6 Demonstrate the relationships between a variety of contemporary environmental and social issues and planning in NSW.
7 Identify the roles of community consultation and public participation in planning and apply community engagement concepts and techniques in an environmental planning context.
