Unit description

This industry-focused professional practice thesis unit supports students in completing the independent research project initiated in ENG6003. The unit guides students through the advanced stages of research implementation, including data collection, analysis, critical evaluation, and synthesis of findings within their professional discipline. Students are expected to finalise their research work and produce a thesis that demonstrates originality, methodological rigour, and a meaningful contribution to knowledge and practice in their field. The completed thesis evidences the student’s ability to conduct independent, industry-relevant research and to communicate findings in a scholarly and professionally appropriate manner.

Learning outcomes
