Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
execute a previously developed research plan, adapting the plan, if necessary, as the research proceeds, and working within the available time and resource constraints
collect, arrange and critically analyse results at a standard expected for publishable research
critically evaluate research results in the context of existing knowledge
communicate research outcomes through an original thesis and through a short seminar and poster prepared in the style for a typical academic research conference
critically reflect on and self-assess development of proficiency in the Engineers Australia Stage 1 Competencies for Professional Engineers.
