Unit description

This unit aims to equip students with the skills to identify and evaluate sustainability reporting frameworks and tools, understand regulatory requirements, and effectively communicate the benefits of circular economy practices. Students will learn to apply circularity metrics, perform materiality assessments, and leverage industrial ecology methods to enhance sustainability reporting and drive circular economy initiatives within their organisations.

Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

evaluate different sustainability reporting frameworks and metrics for measuring and reporting on circularity

explain and interpret the output from a range of different industrial ecology methods, including lifecycle assessment, material flow analysis and carbon accounting

communicate outcomes and opportunities based on circularity assessment to a range of different internal and external stakeholders

develop a circularity reporting framework to address stakeholder requirements and respond to major Australian and international drivers.
