Unit description

Represents the second stage of the research project commenced in the unit Engineering Thesis I.  This stage involves conducting the investigation into the formulated project, and documenting the results and conclusions in a thesis.  It introduces students to the nature of research and assesses their ability to undertake research and present the results in both written and oral formats.

Unit content

Topic 1.  Literature review paper
The format of the paper should be based on the targeted journal for publication of the work. 

Topic 2. Original research paper
The original research paper is concerned with the latest research achievements in an engineering field. The format of the paper should be based on a targeted journal for publication of the work.

Topic 3. Research seminar
Students are required to report on the major or selected findings of their research topics in the form of a scientific or professional seminar. 

Topic 4. Poster
The poster should summarise the project work, including the main conclusions.
