1 Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of traffic engineering and the contextual factors which influence decision making within the discipline
2 analyse traffic and transport systems including traffic variables such as travel demand, existing traffic volumes, traffic generation and distribution, intersection analysis, road capacity analysis, saturation and level of service.
3 Use traffic analysis software to analyse traffic engineering problem.
4 identify, formulate and solve traffic problems using established traffic engineering methods, creativity, innovation and pre-emptive approaches.
5 understand critical elements in road safety and identify practical preventative measures to address road safety issues.
6 Explain traffic related professional and ethical responsibilities including road safety.
