Unit description

This unit provides an opportunity for candidate's to demonstrate knowledge and practical skills in the development and commercialisation of new products, services, and processes, that were gained as part of their Higher Degree Research degree. Specifically, candidate's will develop an understanding of the patent application system and intellectual property, market validation, confidentiality agreements, technology and transfer to industry, and potential investment, funding and revenue generation.

  • Development and commercialisation of new products, services and processes.
  • Patent applications, provisional patents, IP agreements and business plans based on original research

Learning outcomes

Apply entrepreneurial thinking to identify, implement and solve complex problems associated with commercialisation and entrepreneurial practices.

Evaluate and apply an advanced understanding of ethical, environmental and social responsibilities when making business decisions.

Critically evaluate and manage complex situations through effective interpersonal skills when working collaboratively in diverse contexts.
