Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
demonstrate a broad and critical understanding of the knowledge base of the Dance/Drama Stage 6 Syllabus, including recent theory and research, contemporary perspectives and issues, and relevant cultural contexts of perspectives
critically apply current pedagogical theory, including the NSW DEC Quality Teaching Framework, to develop effective teaching and learning strategies that encourage students with diverse learning needs, styles and cultural backgrounds to engage effectively with Music in Stages 6
examine and appraise assessment and reporting procedures and strategies in the context of the Preliminary and HSC standards-referenced assessment framework, and prepare assessment tasks and marking criteria for Stage 6 outcomes
apply theoretical and conceptual knowledge to understand the place of dance/drama within the school and the wider community and the contribution made to students' personal, social and intellectual development and wellbeing
