Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

analyse and evaluate the nature and role of language and literature in shaping ways of relating, knowing and understanding the world

analyse and synthesise language and literature structures to interpret higher-order social, aesthetic and cultural literacy demands across disciplines

apply and justify teaching approaches that draw on language and literature choices tailored to audience, context and purpose

analyse and creatively use language forms and structures in multimodal texts and technologies, relating these to subject-specific literacies
