Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

describe and analyse the nature and role of language and literature as a means by which we relate to others and shape our understanding of ourselves and our world

analyse and synthesise application of language and literature structures that relate to higher-order social, aesthetics, and cultural literacy demands across disciplines.

critically and creatively apply various ways to teach through language and literature choices based on audience, context and purpose

creatively use and analyse language forms, features and structures of literature in different modes, media and technologies and recognise and relate these to subject-specific literacies
