Learning outcomes
Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.
On completion of this unit, students should be able to:
identify and discuss the key priority health areas for young people and describe key policy responses to priority health areas
critically analyse the notion of risk and risk taking as it relates to young people and explain the concept of harm minimisation and its application in relevant fields (i.e. sex education, drug education, safety)
identify appropriate curriculum connections
describe and apply appropriate pedagogical approaches to each of the priority health issues
