Learning outcomes

Unit Learning Outcomes express learning achievement in terms of what a student should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a unit. These outcomes are aligned with the graduate attributes. The unit learning outcomes and graduate attributes are also the basis of evaluating prior learning.

On completion of this unit, students should be able to:

identify ways in which new knowledge, ideas and experiences are disseminated within professional educational communities and the importance of career-long professional learning

formulate a researchable issue or problem of their own choosing for further investigation

assess the ethical issues involved in researching with children and conform to ethical principles, protocols and requirements when conducting investigations within educational contexts

choose from the methodologies outlined an appropriate approach to investigate the issue, including (where relevant) implementing and evaluating an educational intervention

gather and present appropriate data to support the investigation and (where relevant) to evaluate outcomes arising from an intervention and recommend follow-up strategies

present the findings of the investigation in a format suitable for professional dissemination.
